Hold What You've Got

Lyrics:
You had better hold on
Hold on to what you got
You had better hold on
Hold on to what you got

'Cause if you think nobody wants it
Just throw it away and you will see
Someone will have it before you can count
One, two, three, yes, they will, yes, they will

Listen fellas, you know, it's not all the time
That a man can have a good woman
Woman that he can call his very own
Woman who'll stay right there at home
And mind the children while he's gone to work

A woman who'll have his dinner cooked
When he comes home
Where some men make mistakes is when they go out
And stay because they feel that no other man
Wants his woman but him, but listen

If you think no other man wants her
Just throw her away and you will see
Some man will have her before you can count
One, two, three, yes, they will, yes, he will

Ha, ha, listen girls, this goes for you, too
Because you know I've seen so many women
Who've had so many good men in life

Men who would stand by 'em through thick and thin
Men who would go to work everyday and bring home
Their hard earned pay
Men who would give their women anything that their
Little heart desired

Where some women make mistakes
Is when their men go out and let 'em play
They would stay because they felt that no other
Woman wanted him but her, listen
If you think that no other woman wants him
Just pitch him out in the streets and you will see
Some woman will have your man before you can count
One, two, three, yes, she will, yes, she will

The Name Game
Written by: Lincoln Chase, Shirley Ellis

Lyrics:
The name game!
Shirley!
Shirley, Shirley bo Birley
Bonana fanna fo Firley
Fee fy mo Mirley, Shirley!
Lincoln!
Lincoln, Lincoln bo Bincoln
Bonana fanna fo Fincoln
Fee fy mo Mincoln, Lincoln!

Come on everybody!
I say now let's play a game
I betcha I can make a rhyme
Out of anybody's name
The first letter of the name
I treat it like it wasn't there
But a B or an F or an M will appear
And then I say bo add a B
Then I say the name
And Bonana fanna and a fo
And then I say the name again
With an F very plain
and a fee fy and a mo
And then I say the name again
With an M this time
and there isn't any name that
I can't rhyme

Arnold!
Arnold, Arnold bo Barnold
Bonana fanna fo Farnold
Fee fy mo Marnold Arnold!

But if the first two letters are ever the same
I drop them both and say the name like
Bob, Bob drop the B's Bo ob
For Fred, Fred drop the F's Fo red
For Mary, Mary drop the M's Mo ary
That's the only rule that is contrary.

Okay? Now say Bo (Bo)
Now Tony with a B (Bony)
Then Bonana fanna fo (bonana fanna fo)
Then you say the name again with an F very plain
(Fony)
Then a fee fy and a mo (fee fy mo)
Then you say the name again
With an M this time
(Mony)

And there isn't any name that you can't rhyme
Every body do Tony!

Tony tony bo Bony
Bonana fanna fo Fony
Fee fy mo Mony, Tony!

Pretty good, let's do Billy!
Billy billy bo Billy
Bonana fanna fo Filly
Fee fy mo Milly, Billy!

Very good, let's do Marsha!
Marsh Marsha bo barsha
Bonana fanna fo farsha
Fee fy mo marsha, Marsha!

A little trick with Nick!
Nick Nick bo bick
Bonana fanna fo fick
Fee fy mo Mick, Nick!

Keep Searchin' (We'll Follow the Sun)
Written by: Del Shannon

Lyrics:
No one will understand
What I've got to do
I've got to find a place to hide
With my baby by my side
She's been hurt so much
They treat her mean and cruel
They try to keep us far apart
There's only one thing left we can do

We gotta keep searchin' searchin'
Find a place to hide, searchin' searchin'
She'll be by my side
If we gotta keep on the run
We'll follow the sun now (wee-ooo)
Follow the sun now (wee-ooo)

Doesn't matter, doesn't matter what people might say
She's mine and I'm gonna take her anyway

We gotta keep searchin' searchin'
Find a place to stay, searchin' searchin'
Every night and day
If we gotta keep on the run
We'll follow the sun now (wee-ooo)
Follow the sun now (wee-ooo)

how sweet it is - marviN gaye

How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)
Written by: Brian Holland, Eddie Holland, Lamont Dozier

to download this song click here

Lyrics:
How sweet it is to be loved by you
Yes, Baby
How sweet it is to be loved by you
Uh baby

I needed the shelter of someone's arms
And there you were
I needed someone to understand my ups and downs
And there you were

With sweet love and devotion
Deeply touching my emotion
I want to stop and thank you baby
I want to stop and thank you baby

How sweet it is to be loved by you
Oh, Baby
How sweet it is to be loved by you
Yes it is
Close my eyes at night
And wonder what would I be without you in my life
Everything was just a bore
All the things I did seems I've done them before

But you brightened up all my days
With a love so sweet in so many ways
I want to stop and thank you baby
I want to stop and thank you baby

How sweet it is to be loved by you
Oh, yes it is baby
How sweet it is to be loved by you
Yes, it is baby

You were better to me than I've been to myself
For me there's you and nobody else
Stop and thank you baby
I want to stop and thank you baby

Oh, how sweet it is to be loved by you
Tell the truth, baby
How sweet it is to be loved by you
Well, it's like sugar for my soul
How sweet it is to be loved by you
Oh, yes, it is baby

Lyrics:
You never close your eyes
Any more when I kiss your lips
And there's no tenderness
Like before in your fingertips
You're trying hard not to show it, baby
But baby, baby I know it

You've lost that loving feeling
Ohh that loving feeling
You've lost that loving feeling
Now its gone, gone, gone whoaohoh

Now there's no welcome look
In your eyes when I reach for you
And you starting to
Criticise little things I do
It makes me just feel like crying (baby )
Cause baby, something beautiful is dying

Baby baby, I'd get down on my knees for you
If you would only love me, like you used to do
We had a love, a love
A love you don't find every day
So don't, don't, don't, don't, let it slip away

Oh baby baby
Please, baby please
I need your love, I need your love
Bring it on back to me baby, bring it on back

Bring back that loving feeling
Ohh that loving feeling
Bring back that loving feeling
Cause its gone, gone, gone
And I can't go on whoaohoh

Downtown
Written by: Tony Hatch

to download this song click here

Lyrics:
When you're alone and life is making you lonely
You can always go - downtown.
When you've got worries all the noise and the hurry
Seems to help, I know - down town.
Just listen to the music of the traffic in the city
Linger on the sidewalk where the neon signs are pretty
How can you lose?

The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles
forget all your cares
So go - down town
Things'll be great when you're - down town
No finer place for sure - down town
Ev'rything's waiting for you - Down town

Don't hang around and let your problems surround you
There are movie shows - down town,
Maybe you know some little places to go to
Where they never close. - down town
Just listen to the rythm of a gentle Bossa Nova
You'll be dancing with 'em too before the night is over
happy again

The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles
forget all your cares
So go - down town
where all the lights are bright - Down town,
waiting for you, tonight - Down town,
you're gonna be all right now. - Down town.

And you may find somebody kind
To help and understand you
Someone who is just like you and needs a gentle hand
to guide them along,

So, maybe I'll see you there,
We can forget all our troubles,
forget all our cares.
So go - down town
things'll be great when you're - down town,
Don't wait a minute more - down town,
Ev'rything's waiting for you.

Down town, down town,
down town, down town..

Lyrics:
Amen
Hallelujah
Amen, Amen, Amen

See the baby
Lying in a manger
On Christmas morning

See him at the temple
Reaching to his elders
How they marvelled at his wisdom

See him in the garden
Praying to his father
In deepest sorrow

Guess he is our saviour
Jesus guide to save us
And he rose on Easter

Hallelujah
In the kingdom
With saviour

Lyrics:
Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen
Sing it over
Amen, amen, amen, amen, amen

See the little baby
Wrapped in a manger
On Christmas morning
Singing in a temple
Talking with the elders
Tomorrow there's wisdom

Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen
Hallelujah
Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen
Down at the Jordan
John was baptizing
And saving all sinners
See him at the seaside
Talking with the fishermen
And made them disciples

Keep on pushin' now

Love Potion No 9
Written by: Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller

Lyrics:
I took my troubles down to Madame Rue
You know that gypsy with the gold-capped tooth
She's got a pad down on Thirty-Fourth and Vine
Sellin' little bottles of Love Potion Number Nine

I told her that I was a flop with chicks
I've been this way since 1956
She looked at my palm and she made a magic sign
She said "What you need is Love Potion Number Nine"

She bent down and turned around and gave me a wink
She said "I'm gonna make it up right here in the sink"
It smelled like turpentine, it looked like India ink
I held my nose, I closed my eyes, I took a drink

I didn't know if it was day or night
I started kissin' everything in sight
But when I kissed a cop down on Thirty-Fourth and Vine
He broke my little bottle of Love Potion Number Nine
